What is a redress number?
Those travelling to the US may require a redress number, a unique number issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), to verify their identity. As part of TSA’s Secure Flight program, a redress number helps the TSA eliminate watch list misidentification.
If you have experienced difficulties during your travel screening while crossing the US border, it could be because you have a common name or could potentially share the same name as someone on the US watch list. Obtaining a redress number is particularly important in these cases and could allow those who have been misidentified in the past to move through customs more quickly.
